Trade Education Whakatane is in Coastlands, 4km from the centre of town. It's a handy spot, with ample parking. The campus was purpose built for Trade Education. All courses have excellent, modern facilities, including classrooms, workshops and standard lunch rooms.

Whakatane is a town of parks, bush and water. The bush - and kiwi reserve - comes almost to the edge of town. There are all kinds of water sport, and a wealth of thriving clubs. Take your pick: there's a large aquatic centre, hockey stadium, rowing club, tennis and badminton, waka ama, multisport, soccer, rugby - and much more.
If you're not into the outdoors, there’s a movie complex, theatre group, and many cafes and restaurants.
Whakatane’s population is 15,000. There is a large library, primary and secondary schools, childcare, marae and churches.
